Celebrate The Week of the Young Child with this Fun Activity for Music Monday!

It's Music Monday in celebration of the Week of the Young Child! Try this activity with your young child and share a picture on our Facebook Page!

Make your own instruments. For example, make a drum from an empty oatmeal container! Make a kazoo by placing wax paper on the end of a toilet paper tube. Or, make a rain stick by placing rice in a paper towel tube and covering each end with duct tape. Have your child make up (compose) his own songs. Let him put on a concert for you.
When you listen to music, help your child clap, snap or tap to the beat of the music.

Registration Deadline is April 11th!

Don't miss out on  A Community Conversation:  Successful Strategies to Reach English Learners and their Families with Sylvia Acevedo on April 19th!

Save the Dates!

Make sure to save the dates for these two upcoming events!  A Community Conversation:  Successful Strategies to Reach English Learners and their Families with Sylvia Acevedo on April 19th and our School Readiness Symposium:  Emotional Intelligence:  From Theory to Practice with Dr. Marc Brackett on May 1th.

Help your Child Learn to Communicate with our March ParentTip!

From the very first days of his life, your child is learning to communicate. Language and literacy are how your child learns to express his needs and understand others by talking, listening, and reading and writing. These are important for his getting ready to start school. Everything you do with your child, from infancy through preschool, has an effect on her language skills and her ability to learn to read.
