The Institute for Early Educators is a unique and ongoing skill- and knowledge-building experience for early care and education professionals. Institutes are typically held on Saturdays at a local elementary school for 20-50 participants one to three times during a school year. New skills are practiced and curricula offered during a series of workshops. Workshops are usually led by elementary school staff or topic-based experts from the local community. Workshop topics focus on the Maryland Model for School Readiness (MMSR), the Domains of Learning, and techniques for working with young children. Early educators receive Core of Knowledge “clock hours” for participating in the Institute.
