About the event

June 20th - Social and Emotional development describes children’s ability to form relationships with others, manage their emotions, and understand others’ emotions. We know that healthy social and emotional development contributes to a child’s overall well-being and school readiness. This session will provide information on how to support a child’s social and emotional development. In-turn, child care professionals will learn how to model and communicate these skills with parents/caregivers to support them as their child’s first and most important teacher.

June 27th - Approaches to Learning describes skills and behaviors that children use to learn, problem solve, and interact with others. We know children are naturally curious! What can we do to foster their curiosity and support their approaches to learning? This session will provide you with information on how to support a child’s approach to learning. In-turn, childcare professionals will learn how to model and communicate these skills with parents/caregivers to support them as their child’s first and most important teacher.

July 11th - Language and Literacy development describes how young children understand and use language and how they learn about reading and writing.
