The Institute for Early Educators program offers a unique and ongoing skill- and knowledge-building experience for PreK teachers and early care and education professionals. Institutes are currently offered in STEM and Math Practices, and include professional goal-setting and embedded and on-site reflective coaching. Each Institute spans three sessions, and are typically offered to a group of early educators over the course of several months. During each Institute session, participants learn new skills and strategies for teaching STEM or foundational math concepts. Institute content is aligned to the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) standards, the Domains of Learning, and to Supporting Every Young Learner: Maryland’s Guide to Early Childhood Pedagogy, Birth to Age 8. Participants receive individualized coaching support and MSDE Core of Knowledge or MSDE Continued Professional Development hours.
