Readiness Matters 2020

We know from decades of research that the early years are critical to a child’s social-emotional and academic success. Children who start kindergarten with the skills and knowledge they need to fully engage in the curriculum are more likely to succeed by third grade and beyond. That is why it is so important to look at the whole child, an approach that considers the cognitive, physical, and social-emotional aspects of a child’s development as equally essential for success. The results of the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment help educators develop a holistic picture of each child’s readiness for kindergarten, and ensure that schools and communities are ready to support a child’s development in all areas.
